The unique Combi Source of the GCMS-QP2010 Ultra for EI, PCI and NCI reduces the
down time of your instrument and makes method development easy. EI (Electron Impact)
gives classical mass spectra for easy identification of the sample components. In
PCI (Positive Chemical Ionization) the molecular weight of the compounds can be
determined, indispensable in organic research labs. Negative Chemical Ionization
(NCI) gives highest sensitivity for chlorinated contaminants e.g. solvents or pesticides.
You can choose your reagent gas according to your needs from methane, iso-butane
or ammonia supplied by the 2 ports on the GCMS-QP2010 Ultra. Of course all techniques
including PCI and NCI are optimized by our well known Autotuning procedure including
mass number calibration, independent of the reagent gas you have chosen - no need
for any manual adjustment of GCMS parameters.
