By 2050, the world population will have grown to over nine billion people. This developement will be one of the major challenges for mankind: how to ensure the supply of safe food and clean water? How to increase agricultural yields? Analytical instrumentation with hyphenated system configurations like LC-GC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS has become an indispensable tool for monitoring the safety and quality of food and beverages as well as consumer goods. Determination of essential compounds as well as harmful substances such as pesticides, heavy metals and other food contaminants are in the focus of the EUIC food.
