LC/MS/MS Method Package for Lipid Mediators Ver. 2
Ready-to-Use Analytical Conditions

Lipid mediators (bioactive lipids) have important physiological functions and have been associated with lifestyle-related diseases like diabetes and allergy diseases. This method package provides a simultaneous analysis method that encompasses 158 compounds of lipid mediators derived from arachidonic cascade and its derivatives.
UFMS Technology Covers Wide Range of Compounds
ESI negative ionization is commonly used for the measurement of fatty acids but in the case of important lipid mediators such as anandamide, ESI positive ionization is preferred because higher sensitivity is achieved. Traditional LC/MS is limited to single-polarity analysis, but Shimadzu's UFMS technology allows the LCMS-8050 to perform 5 msec high-speed polarity switching, enabling multiple classes of analytes to be analyzed in a single run without loss of data quality.
The compound panel includes 87 compounds derived from arachidonic acid, 18 EPA-derived compounds, 16 DHA-derived compounds, 11 ethanolamides and 26 others, including other fatty acid-derived compounds, and platelet activating factor (PAF).
Correction for Quantitative Value and Retention Time Using 16 Internal Standards

The 158 compounds were divided into 16 groups based on their chemical properties and each internal standard was appropriately selected for each group. The use of internal standards allows for accurate peak identification and quantitation.
