What is the Analytical Cannabis Expo?

The second annual Analytical Cannabis Expo Europe is part of a series of international cannabis events focusing exclusively on the most important scientific developments in the industry. By providing international scientists from the world of cannabis science and technology with a platform to discuss their work, it is possible to showcase the biggest scientific advancements in the field through technical talks and presentations. Shimadzu is proud to be part of this platform since the very beginning and we are looking forward to joining the conversation again at this years online event. Shimadzu's Cannabis and Hemp Testing Solutions cover a broad range of applications, from potency testing to pesticide screening and heavy metal analysis. We supply the instruments, methods and experience necessary to get you up and running quickly.

The Determination of CBD and general cannabinoid in Hemp Oil using HPLC

Potency testing is the starting point for most Hemp laboratories as it is important to accurately distinguish hemp from cannabis using a quantitative analysis of the material. Shimadzu offers numerous options to test potency, including the HPLC based cannabis/hemp Analyzer. A comprehensive package integrating instrument hardware, software, consumables, and analytical workflow, the cannabis/hemp Analyzer is ready to use after one day of installation and testing, and requires no time consuming method development on the part of the analyst.

Analysis of Heavy Metal Contaminants in Hemp and Cannabis Flower using ICP- Mass Spectrometry

The concentration of heavy metals in plants that are intended for consumption is of concern due to the potentially hazardous effects of these metals related to their toxicity. As they grow, plants can bioaccumulate metals in their tissues that originate from the soil and water in which they are grown. These metals may originate naturally in soils and water as a result of the mineral content of the soil or source of the water, or they may be artificially introduced in the form of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides commonly applied to increase crop yields.

Hemp/ Cannabis analyzer for Potency testing

A simple solution, complete with a column, methods, batches, and reports. Allows for sample submission to reporting in just a few mouse clicks, with easy and minimal workflow for the inexperienced analyst.

LCMS-8060NX for Pesticide and Mycotoxin analysis

In the newly-developed IonFocus unit, the ion transport electrodes reduce sensitivity loss from matrix effects by expelling neutral matrix particles with greater efficiency. Using the LCMS-8060NX's world-class polarity reversal speed (5 ms) and data capture speed (1.5 ms), stable data was obtained even for high-speed analysis of multiple components. The IonFocus unit also introduces ions into the detector more efficiently, improving the signal intensity. Of 100 compounds tested in tea leaves, 96% showed excellent recoveries.

GCMS TQ-8050 NX for Terpene and residual solvents analysis

Ultra-High-Sensitivity Triple Quadrupole GC-MS for Cannabis and Hemp testing. Equipped with a new highly efficient detector and three forms of noise-reduction technologies, the GCMS-TQ8050 NX is capable of performing unprecedented quantitative analyses of ultra-trace amounts, down to the femtogram level.

ICPMS-2030 for heavy metal analysis

The ICPMS-2030 is the first inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer including two assistant functions for analytical method development and diagnosis of analytical results. The newly developed collision cell provides highest sensitivity for analysis of heavy metals in hemp and cannabis samples. The use of the patented environmental friendly mini-torch results in lowest running cost.
