Claudio Brunelli
Claudio is Principal scientist in Analytical R&D at PFIZER UK. He completed his PhD in analytical chemistry at Universita’ degli Studi di Torino, with a research focus on chiral, fast and ultrafast GC. In 2004, he became a Postdoc Fellow at Pfizer Analytical Research Centre (PARC) under the a project on High Resolution Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC) for pharmaceutical analysis. As part of the separation science SME team, he covers activities supporting method development for late-stage projects, technique workflows, method troubleshooting and has also roles in forced degradation and drug stability.
Pilar Franco
Pilar is the President and Technical Manager at Chiral Technologies, the European subsidiary of DAICEL. She earned her Ph.D. in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona in the field of chiral separations and pursued research in this area with Dr. Eric Francotte (Novartis) and Dr. W. Lindner (University of Vienna). She joined DAICEL in 2002 where she has been involved in the development of chiral stationary phases and their practical use in LC and SFC applications, either at analytical or preparative scale.
Alexandre Grand-Guillaume-Perrenoud
Alex is pharmacist and biochemist by training and holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry from the University of Geneva. Currently, Operations Lead in Pharmaceutical development at Novartis, Alex has 9 years of work experience in the pharmaceutical and food sciences industries. His scientific expertise includes state-of-the-art analytical chromatographic techniques and mass spectrometry applied to small and large molecules characterization, as well as to development of regulatory control strategy.
Eric Lesellier
Eric has been an associate professor at the University of Paris Saclay since 1990, while carrying out his research at the Institute of Organic and Analytical Chemistry in Orléans, France. He developed classification systems, ensuring the knowledge of stationary phase behavior and approaches for the study of solvent properties used for separation (SFC) and selective extraction (SFE). He is also involved in the use of SFC for screening of principal active drugs, impurity profiling, and natural product.
Luigi Mondello
Luigi is Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Messina, Italy. He is the author of more than 500 publications (research articles, book chapters, and reviews) and more than 1000 conference presentations (of which 184 invited/plenary lectures). His research interests include high-resolution chromatography techniques (HRGC, HPLC, HRGC-MS, HPLC-MS, OPLC and SFE/SFC) and the development of hyphenated (LC-GC-MS, GC-GC) and multidimensional “comprehensive” (GC×GC, LC×LC) techniques and their applications to the study of natural complex matrices.
Caroline West
Caroline is a full professor in analytical chemistry at the University of Orleans, France, where she is teaching separation science and chemometrics. Her main scientific interests lie in fundamentals of chromatographic selectivity, mainly in SFC, but also in HPLC. In 2015, she received the “LC‐GC Emerging Leader in Chromatography” award and the Jubilee medal from the Chromatographic Society in 2021. She is also an advisory board member for several journals in separation science and was ranked several times among the most influential people in analytical chemistry by “The Analytical Scientist” magazine.
