Scientific Workshop: Monday 28th August | 12h20 - 13h00

"Enhancing automation & reporting confidence | innovative approached in toxicology.”

The CLAM-2040 automation module, the third of its generation since initial launch, has paved the way for the use of LCMS in clinical research and routine analysis since 2015.

By enabling easier implementation of the mass spectrometry coupled with liquid chromatography in laboratories, the CLAM module contributes to the democratization of the use of mass spectrometry in the clinical environment.

The new version, CLAM-2040, opens new doors in LCMS automation with the ability to connect LCMS-TQs and LCMS-QTOFs. Automated sample preparation prior to injection reduces time-consuming workload for lab technicians and improves sample-to-sample repeatability. Additional features such as the LIS connection and the optional LAS connection greatly expand the possibilities in the laboratory.

During this workshop, we will also discuss the use of an ambient ion source named Probe Electrospray (PESI) coupled with MS/MS to rapidly screen samples using isotope dilution approaches either with TQ Mass Spectrometers or HRMS QTOF systems, with applications for the measurement of drugs of abuse and benzodiazepines. Such a system, with limited sample preparation, is likely to simplify the implementation of mass spectrometry for its selectivity and accuracy as a replacement for immunoassays for rapid screening or measurement in an emergency context.
