Shimadzu introduces the GCMS-TQ RX Series
New triple quadrupole GC-MS/MS platform combines analytical performance with greater flexibility for routine laboratories
Shimadzu, a world leader in analytical instrumentation and testing equipment, has introduced the GCMS-TQ RX Series, a new generation of triple quadrupole GC-MS/MS systems developed to help laboratories address increasing analytical complexity, rising sample throughput demands and growing pressure to reduce helium consumption. Designed for food, environmental, pharmaceutical and clinical applications, the series combines proven Shimadzu GC-MS/MS technologies with new software and hardware capabilities that support a broader range of workflows and analytical requirements. The GCMS-TQ8050 RX represents the flagship model within the new platform. Combining the platform's full range of workflow, injection and carrier gas flexibility, it is designed to support high-throughput routine laboratories while maintaining the performance required for demanding analytical applications.
Meeting the challenges of modern routine laboratories
Analytical laboratories are facing increasing demands in routine analysis. More complex sample matrices, growing sample volumes and stricter regulatory requirements are placing additional pressure on workflows and resources. At the same time, laboratories are looking for greater flexibility in method development and operation while maintaining reliable analytical performance.
The GCMS-TQ RX Series has been developed to address these challenges. Smart MRM+ technology and application databases help simplify the setup and adaptation of analytical methods, while Analytical Intelligence functions support efficient routine operation and help reduce dependence on extensive GC-MS expertise. Together, these features help laboratories extend applications and manage complex workflows with less manual effort.
A key element of the series is the Multi-Mode Injector (MMI), which supports multiple injection techniques within a single inlet system. By accommodating approaches such as split injection, programmed temperature vaporization and large-volume injection, laboratories can perform a wider range of analyses on one platform. Combined with robust hardware and long-life components, the platform is designed to support stable operation and minimize maintenance effort in routine laboratory environments.
Flexible carrier gas operation
The GCMS-TQ RX Series also addresses growing concerns regarding helium availability and cost. In addition to conventional helium operation, the systems support hydrogen and nitrogen carrier gases, providing laboratories with greater flexibility when defining their gas strategy. Helium-saving functions further help reduce consumption while maintaining routine analytical performance.
Key benefits at a glance
- Flexible platform for routine and specialized GC-MS/MS applications.
