Global Clinical Summit 2026

Real-World Insights  -  Trust  -  Expectations

We are delighted to invite you to the first Shimadzu Global Clinical Summit.
The Summit will bring together customers, clinical experts, global key opinion leaders and Shimadzu representatives from around the world. It is designed as an international platform for sharing real-world clinical insights, strengthening collaboration and discussing the future direction of clinical mass spectrometry. The Shimadzu Global Clinical Summit 2026 will take place at the nhow Roma Vittorio Veneto in Rome, Italy.

At the centre of the Summit will be the experiences of customers who use Shimadzu LC/MS systems in their daily clinical practice. Their perspectives will provide valuable insights into the practical application of Shimadzu solutions in clinical laboratories and the evolving role of mass spectrometry in clinical practice.

Approximately 150 participants are expected to attend, with a strong focus on customer participation. Mr Yamamoto, CEO of Shimadzu Corporation, will attend, making this summit an especially meaningful occasion.

Through scientific presentations, discussions and practical insights, the Summit will highlight:

Clinical Focus Areas

The scientific programme will cover four key areas of clinical mass spectrometry:

Participants can look forward to presentations by global key opinion leaders and customers, expert panel discussions, scientific poster sessions and opportunities for international networking and knowledge exchange.

7 December 2026 Therapeutic Drug Monitoring

Dr. Christina Trambas

Medical Director

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne

Australia

Presentation title The Best of Both Worlds: Routine Integration of Mass Spectrometry into the Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory While Preserving Laboratory Autonomy
View full speaker details

Biography

Christina Trambas is a Chemical Pathologist, clinician-scientist, and the Medical Director of St Vincent’s Pathology, Melbourne. She studied Medicine at the University of Melbourne and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and the Australasian Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine.

Prior to entering Medicine, Christina completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours and a PhD in Immunology at The University of Tasmania and undertook a post-doctoral fellowship at The Dunn School of Pathology at Oxford University.

Abstract

Mass spectrometry offers the clinical diagnostic laboratory exceptional sensitivity and selectivity. However, its routine use has been limited by complexity and high resource requirements.

This presentation discusses an integration model that combines automated sample processing, track automation and interfacing while preserving a laboratory’s flexibility and autonomy. The approach can support the rapid implementation of mass spectrometry assays, including laboratory-developed tests.
