Headspace / Purge and Trap Injection

When a gaseous sample is injected, the main function of the liner is to transfer the sample efficiently into the analytical column, as there is no vaporization step needed. Therefore, the suggested liners are thin and straight through, so that the sample band remains as focused as possible when reaching the column. Wool is typically not needed. To avoid backflash, check the expansion volume of your solvent and make sure to choose a liner that has enough volume.

Standard recommendation:

221-41544-05 - for standard HS / P&T applications

SPME - Solid Phase Microextraction

nd analyte enrichment. Similar to headspace injections, there is no vaporization step needed in the injector, only the desorption of the analytes from the fiber and their efficient transport into the column is needed. Therefore, SPME liners are straight through liners with no wool and an ID slightly bigger than the OD of the fibers. That way the sample band remains as focused as possible when reaching the column.

Standard recommendation:

221-75196      - for SPME Fibers
227-35327-03 - for 1.1 mm OD Arrows
227-35328-03 - for 1.5 mm OD Arrows
