TOC-1000e

 

The TOC-1000e combines a compact design with Shimadzu’s mercury-free excimer lamp technology to deliver highly sensitive TOC measurement for pure water applications. By generating high-energy 172 nm ultraviolet light, the excimer lamp enables efficient oxidation of organic matter while eliminating the need for mercury-based components. Shimadzu’s proprietary Active-Path technology further improves measurement performance by transferring lamp energy directly to the sample, helping ensure stable, reliable oxidation over long operating periods. Together, these technologies provide high measurement performance, long-term operational stability and reduced environmental impact in one compact system.
 

Reduces the effort for calibration and validation

The TOC-1000e is designed for easy maintenance and significantly reduces the effort required after parts replacement. While conventional instruments often require maintenance, recalibration and revalidation every six months, the TOC-1000e extends this cycle to 12 months, helping reduce service frequency and associated downtime. Maintenance is straightforward, with only the excimer lamp and pump head requiring replacement. Both components can be accessed from the front door of the analyzer and removed or installed without tools. Maintenance and re-calibration can be performed on-site using Shimadzu-certified standard solutions, so the unit does not need to be returned to the manufacturer. This helps simplify workflows, reduce operational burden and keep the instrument in service for longer periods.

Reliable and consistent support of common regulations

The TOC-1000e combines highly sensitive measurement with stable performance to support regulatory compliance in ultrapure water monitoring. Its UV oxidation-conductivity method delivers reliable results with a simple analyzer design and a detection limit of 0.1 µg/L, making it well suited for quality control in regulated environments. The system is compliant with pharmacopoeia requirements in major markets, including USP and Ph.Eur. (EP), and its user authentication, access rights control and audit trail functions help support data integrity and secure data management. When combined with Shimadzu’s LabSolutions software, it also supports full electronic records and electronic signatures (ER/ES).
