Meet Shimadzu at ICOM-CC in Oslo

We warmly invite you to visit the Shimadzu booth 17 – Sal D at the 21st ICOM-CC Triennial Conference in Oslo. Our experienced colleagues will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the analysis of historical objects.
At our booth, we will be showcasing the AIRsight Raman + FTIR microscope, which enables the analysis of both inorganic and organic samples, down to the µm range. In addition, Shimadzu offers a range of further non-destructive spectroscopic methods for cultural heritage research.
Our specialists look forward to meeting you and discussing your questions.

AIRsight: Both FTIR and Raman Spectra can Be Measured without Moving Samples

FTIR microscopes [µFTIR) can analyze organic substances, but it is difficult to obtain information for many inorganic substances.
On the other hand, Raman microscopes can obtain information about inorganic substances such as titanium oxide and carbon, in addition to organic substances. In contrast, a single AIRsight unit can analyze mixtures of both organic and inorganic substances, down to µm range.
